Benchmarkers

Benchmarkers are essential participants in TIG who continuously compute solutions for various challenges using selected algorithms, earning block rewards for their computational contributions. They operate by selecting benchmark settings (including algorithm choice and difficulty level), generating challenge instances, and submitting valid solutions through benchmarks and proofs, with their rewards being distributed based on their influence and how well they balance their efforts across different challenges. To maintain system efficiency and fairness, Benchmarkers are incentivized to minimize their "imbalance" (the degree to which they spread their computational work unevenly between challenges) through a reward mechanism that penalizes focusing solely on single challenges. Through their activities, Benchmarkers not only maintain the network's computational infrastructure but also drive algorithm adoption, effectively acting as the market force that determines which innovations succeed and providing the computational power necessary for solving real-world scientific challenges.
